About Brooke

brooke-kemball-smithBrooke lives just outside of Bath and is married with three children. With 21 years of experience as an acupuncturist and 30 years in the field of complementary medicine, Brooke brings a wide range of skills and knowledge to his clinical practice.

Brooke trained at the College of Integrated Chinese Medicine in Reading, which is recognised for its’ high calibre of teaching staff and is one of the largest colleges of acupuncture in the UK. He practices the two most common styles of acupuncture in the UK, Traditional Chinese Acupuncture (TCM) and Five Element.

Practised together, both styles may bring about a higher level of well being physically, psychologically and emotionally.

Brooke has undertaken further acupuncture training in the area of Reproductive Health. Courses include “Understanding IVF: Chinese Medicine and Assisted Conception” and has trained with Zita West, a leading fertility and pregnancy expert. Brooke is a member of the Zita West National Network of Affiliated Acupuncturists.

He has also trained in Shonishin: Japanese Paediatric Needle Therapy. As this therapy involves a gentle palpitation technique instead of needles, it is suitable for the treatment of babies and children under 5.

Brooke has also achieved recognition in both Western and Eastern Massage and holds a Diploma in Advanced Therapeutic Massage, a Certificate of Sports Massage and an Advanced Remedial Massage qualification in Malaysian Massage. Brooke has 29 years experience specialising in muscular and joint pain/discomfort. Both as an experienced acupuncturist and skilled massage therapist he an help improve and maintain the health, mobility and comfort of an individual’s back, neck, hips and other joints.

Brooke worked with the Older Peoples Unit at the Royal United Hospital, Bath between 2001 and 2007, using acupuncture to treat Parkinson’s Disease patients. Changes in symptoms and quality of life factors in Parkinson’s sufferers were measured.

Brooke works at clinics in Bath, Bradford on Avon and Frome. He has strong links with The Health Practice (Doctors Surgery) in Bradford On Avon.
