Regular treatment with acupuncture may be good for both the mother and baby as it may boost energy levels and increase blood flow to the uterus. The recommended frequency of treatment is every four to six weeks.

Breech Presentation

Gently warming an acupuncture point on the little toe with a moxa stick may have a significant effect on helping turn breech babies. Treatment is painless and can be done as early as 34 weeks.

Pre-birthing Acupuncture

Pre birthing acupuncture treatments are used from week 36 until delivery and may boost energy levels and help prepare women for a more efficient labour.

Baby Overdue

Acupuncture may provide a natural and gentle method of induction to stimulate labour.

After pregnancy care

After the birth a treatment using the warmth of a moxa stick is effective for warming the lower abdomen and beginning the recovery process of the area from the pregnancy and birth. This treatment can be carried out by a birthing partner and may have a very soothing and comforting effect. Acupuncture may be beneficial in the weeks following the birth as treatment may help the new mother recover her strength and help to promote relaxation and sleep.

Acupressure in labour for effective pain relief

Acupressure is the stimulation of acupuncture points without needles. Applying pressure (using thumbs, fingers or flat of hand) to these points may help reduce pain during labour. Many women have also reported that the treatment has helped them to feel more in control and happier about their birth experience. Brooke teaches acupressure points and techniques to pregnant women and their partners which may be used from 36 weeks.
